Different Anti-Fake News websites have found that wrestler Priya Malik has won the gold medal in 73 kg world title at the Cadet World Championships in Budapest on Thursday, July 22. But in Tokyo Olympics India has won only one silver medal in weightlifting.

Priya Malik defeated Belarus wrestler to win the gold medal at 73kg on July 23.

Priya Malik is from Mokhra village in Haryana that has given India’s first-ever woman Olympic medalist in wrestling, Sakshi Malik.

India has so far won only one silver medal in weightlifting at Tokyo Olympics. Hence, the viral post claiming wrestler Priya Malik won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics is misleading.
