October 27, 2017 is the date, when we will get to see the very new movie from the famous Saw series. While speculations were there about the next movie in the franchise since February this year, Loins Gate made it official on Friday. The name of the movie is still undisclosed, however, it is expected to be Saw: Legacy.
Saw is a series of horror movies, which is produced by Twisted Pictures and issued by Lions Gate Entertainment. The first installment of the movie was released in the year 2004, in the month of October, following a wide acceptance and appreciation in the Sundance Film Festival that year.
So far, seven chapters of the movie have been released, latest being Saw 3D, which hit the theaters in October 2010. During and after the shoot, it was claimed by Mark Burg, the producer of the movie, that Saw 3D will be the final installment of the series. That was the reason; the seventh part was named Saw: The Final Chapter.
Known for limitless bloodshed and graphic nudity, the Saw movies ever since their beginning have received mixed reactions from critics and fans, some gave thumbs up, while others showed thumbs down, however, the entire series have been a commercial hit, earning a colossal revenue of $873,319,880 worldwide. That amount makes it the fifth biggest horror movie series, after A Nightmare on the Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Scream.
With eighth installment currently under production, the franchise is set to take a new start. However, star cast, directors, and members of the movie are yet to be announced.
