Suicide Squad is a new superhero movie (or should we call it a supervillain movie), directed by David Ayer with heavyweight stars, such as Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Ben Affleck, among others. The first reviews for the movie are out now, and they have something really shocking for the fans, who have been waiting for this movie eagerly since its announcement.
Once labelled as the most awaited movie of 2016, Suicide Squad, looks like, has broken the heart of critics who just called it to be a disaster movie that is full of sexism and stupidity.
The multi-starrer comic book movie has received thumbs down and sad emoticons from the critics. The Daily Mail UK writes, the film is being criticized for showing ‘appalling sexism and hideously timed gun worship’.
A columnist while reviewing the movie mentions that it ‘isn’t even good kind of a bad’.
Writing about the movie, the popular magazine Vanity Fair says, it is a shapeless, and hopelessly edited movie that seems to encouraging the worshiping of guns and sexism.
“A shapeless, poorly edited trudge that adds some mildly appalling sexism and even a soupçon of racism to its abundant, hideously timed gun worship.”
~ Vanity Fair, reviewing Suicide Squad
It has also been written that the highly-paid actors in the movie are honest about doing something ambitious for the movie, but unfortunately they fall short.
The way women are treated in the movie has burned the nostril hair for critics, and forced them to write such bad comments for the movie.
However, for the fans of Batman, the Jokers, Harley Quinn, and other DC villains, this movie will be nothing less than a treat. It is scheduled to release on 5 August worldwide.
