The Forbes report of world’s richest people with profiling and ranking is out which also has names of 101 Indians in it, including 4 women. It’s first time ever that Indians have crossed the 100 mark. Positioned at number 33, Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani has net worth of $23.2 billion. Following him at spot 56 is Indian steel baron Lakshmi Mittal with total wealth worth $16.4 billion. Wipro Limited (ADR) chairman, Azim Premji is ranked 72 with a fortune worth $12.2 billion.

Four wealthiest Indian women who are also there on the list are Savitri Jindal at the 303 position with a net worth of $5.2 billion. Smita Crishna-Godrej from the Godrej clan is ranked 814th followed by Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (973) and Leena Tewari (1030), chair of USV India which specialises in diabetic and cardiovascular drugs. They have net worth of $2.5 billion, $2.1 billion and $2 billion respectively.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has been declared as the world’s richest man for the fourth time in a row with wealth worth $86 billion,up from $75 billion last year. Number 2 in this billionaires list is investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett, with a fortune worth $75.6 billion, up from $60.8 billion last year. Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos, whose net worth increased to $72.8 billion, rolls in at third place. Amancio Ortega, the Spanish retailer best known for the Zara fashion line, falls to Number 4 with a $71.3 billion fortune and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg comes in fifth at $56 billion. Other billionaires on the list include Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim Helu ($54.5 billion), Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison ($52.2 billion), brothers Charles and David Koch ($48.3 billion each) and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg ($47.5 billion).

Donald Trump who became the first billionaire president in US history in January 2017, acquires position number 544 with a net worth of $3.5 billion. He was spotted at 324 last year.

The Forbes report consists of 2,043 of the richest people in the world who have a combined net worth of $7.67 trillion. Moreover, the US has the most billionaires, with 565, followed by China, with 319 and Germany with 114.
